"Dhira", aka Hanumān, after the victory of Rāma in the battle of Laṅkā asked him to bless him with mukti, liberation. Rāma refused to accord it to him. Then Śiva being nādapriya, lover of the sound of music, appeared and promised him to fulfill his desire on the condition that he should sing for him always. Hanumān is known for his music and sings his way to enlightenment!
